Pauline Desrochers Frobel, 86, of Hollywood Florida passed away on May 14th, 2019. She was born in Meriden CT on July 31st, 1932 to parents Florette Boulais and Zacharie Desrochers. Pauline was married to Francis Frobel on April 25th,1953 and shared 50 wonderful years together. She had a career in Banking and worked for Hollywood Federal Bank. Pauline had a passion for nature, reading, and her faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Frobel, daughter Debra, and brothers Normand and Robert Desrochers. Pauline is survived by daughters Norma (Nick) Longendyke of Panama City Beach FL and Frances (Paul) DaCosta of Houston TX, son James (Tina) Frobel of Pembroke Pines FL, grandchildren Brian, Nicholas, Nicole, Steven, Trey, and Zacharie, sister Florette Juriga of Colchester CT and many nieces and nephews.The family will gather at a later date for a Celebration of Life at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL where Pauline will be reunited with her beloved husband.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VITAS Hospice Florida.

Friday morning May 17th, 2019, at the age of 79, Captain Dan Collins passed unexpectedly at his residence. Born in Columbus Ohio, 1940, Dan graduated from the University of Illinois with his degree in Zoology. He went on to Officer training before serving in the military, from which he was honorably discharged. Dan then moved to Florida where he obtained his Captain’s license and bought a fishing boat, the “Call Girl” and chartered out of Bahia Mar. Dan met the love of his life Barbara and her three children Jeanie, Scotty, and Lisa in 1967; they married in 1969. He compounded the crime with another daughter, Kathleen, in 1973, and built a waterfront home in Lighthouse Point that same year. Captain Dan enjoyed a distinguished career in tournament fishing, yachting, and real estate. He acquired a repertoire of stories over his prolific career. He loved to sing and was brilliant with limericks. He is survived by his beautiful wife Barbara Collins, 3 children (Jeanie Gregory of Richland, GA, Lisa Hemphill and husband Jim Nelms of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Kathleen and husband Dan Murray of Clermont, FL), 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and older sister Deirdre and Brad Burnett of Rancho Santa Fe, CA. He is deeply missed.His memory will be honored this Friday May 24th, 2019 at the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club (2701 NE 42nd St, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064) between 2pm and 4pm. Dr. Richard S. Dellerson was born in Far Rockaway, New York in 1938. He attended New York Military Academy, then graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a degree in pharmacy and went on to graduate from University of Miami School of Medicine in 1966. He was stationed in Beaufort, SC, as a Navy flight physician from 1967-1969. He was then the Chief of the emergency room at Memorial Regional in Hollywood, FL for over 30 years. His true passion was training paramedics and developing emergency response protocols as the Medical Director of both Hollywood and Pembroke Pines Fire Departments throughout most of his career. He was an avid marlin fisherman, golfer, guitar player, pilot, baseball fan, and most of all a very proud father and grandpa. He will now go join his beautiful daughter Danielle who has been waiting for him up in heaven with a cold martini and a pack of Camel Lights. We will celebrate his extraordinary life on Monday, May 20, at Memorial Regional Conference Center, 3501 Johnson St. Hollywood at 2:30 pm. On Sunday May 5, 2019, Carey Sutherland Schiller of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away at Holy Cross Hospital, she was 60. A resident of South Florida since 1988, Carey was born in Newburgh, New York and was formerly of Walnut Creek, California. She is the beloved wife of and celebrates 33 years of marriage to Fletcher H. Schiller. She is survived by her three sisters, Kendall Abramson (Mark), Gail Markham (Bill) and Jill Gebhardt (Phil) and two brothers, Chip Sutherland (Suzi) and John Sutherland. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews. A service to Celebrate the Life of Carey Schiller will be held on Thursday June 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3901 NE 22nd Ave, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064. Chuck Irwin was born in Long Branch NJ on May 19, 1937 to Charlie and Whiz Irwin. He spent his formative years growing up at the family boat yard in Red Bank, NJ, founded in 1884. In 1953 he moved with his family to Fort Lauderdale FL. Chuck is a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, The Peddie School and Duke University where he played basketball, lettered in Lacrosse and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Following a stint in the United States Army and the United States Coast Guard Reserve he returned to Fort Lauderdale where he met and married his wife of 55 years Linda Heep Irwin. Continuing his legacy of working in the boating business Chuck went to work for Richard Bertram. Eventually serving as President of Bertram Yacht Sales of Fort Lauderdale and then Executive Vice President of Richard Bertram Company which included dealerships for Bertram, Grand Banks, Hatteras and Matthews Yachts.In 1970 he joined his father in forming Chas.P.Irwin Yacht Brokerage. During this time Chuck served at Vice President and President of the Company and also Vice President of Burger Yacht Sales of Florida followed by joining Palmer Johnson as President of their Florida Yacht Sales. Later in life he became affiliated with Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. Chuck was a member of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, the Yacht Architects and Brokers Association and a past board member and chairman of the Arbitration committee for the Florida Yacht Brokers Association.Chuck was a member of the Lauderdale Yacht Club, Ducks Unlimited, IGFA, Tarpon and Bonefish Trust and CCA. Being an avid hunter and fisherman took him to many corners of the world, from Alaska to Argentina, New Zealand, Central America, Canada and Spain. A devoted father and grandfather Chuck also leaves behind his wonderful, supportive hunting and fishing “buddies”. His was a rich and full life. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Linda, Vero Beach FL, and his sons of whom he was so proud: Chip (Angelina), San Carlos CA; David, Fort Lauderdale; Christopher Todd Encino CA. He was PoP Pop to his wonderful grandchildren: Peter (Katarina), Cary NC; Chase,Columbus OH; Maris, Fort Lauderdale; Campbell, Rancho Palos Verdes CA; Bailey, Hartford CT; and Great Grandson Calvin, Cary NC.He will be missed!

Hartwick, James W. ( Jim), 84 of Sunrise FL, a respected and well known owner of HARTWICK & SONS, passed away on Wednesday, April 17,2019. Jim was a Heavy Machinery Mechanic and Hydraulic Engineer. He formed and co-owned BoreMaster Inc. of Opa-Locka, FL in 1973 with business partner Tom Smith. Together they specialized in underground boring and land development until 1988 when Jim started Hartwick & Sons. He worked with Resolve Marine Group from 1999-2019 designing and building specialized salvage equipment. Jim was a Legend in the Industry. He enjoyed watching his three sons grow up in the business with him. He was a devoted father and family man who had many friends. He was also a Freemason and Past Master of the Seminole Masonic Lodge in Fort Lauderdale. Born on October 8, 1934 in Detroit MI., he was a resident of Fort Lauderdale, FL for many years before moving to Davie, FL then onto Sunrise, FL. Jim enjoyed what he did and worked every day doing what he loved and helping others any way he could. He was a devoted loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather to his family. Preceded in death by his eldest child Matthew, Jim is survived by Matthew’s wife Rhonda with children, Wade, Beau, Billy. Daughter Juliet Hartwick-Coughlin and Shawn Coughlin. Sons, T.J. Hartwick and Tabitha Hartwick with granddaughters Jaiden and Shelby. Sons Chris Hartwick and Beau Hartwick. Great-grandchildren of Wade Hartwick, Keighlee Marie and Abree. Judith M. “Minice/Pet” Ricketts, 68, of Lauderhill, FL., passed away May 7, 2019, surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughters Stephne, Natalee, and Tanya, son Errol, grandchildren, Danielle, Jada, Maria, Stephen, Christian, Victoria, Deana and Christina, and other relatives and friends. Elin Ann Schmuckler, 82, left us on May 5th, 2019. She was a warm, funny and compassionate woman with a wild and crazy side who loved her family dearly. Hope M. Bruens, née Resor, of Boca Raton passed away, Friday May 10th, surrounded by her husband, Mark, daughter, Harper, and son, Alex. Hope was born in 1963 and grew up in Bethesda, MD. She had so many diverse talents, made friends with people from different walks of life, and stayed optimistic no matter the challenge.
