Skrillex gets a tabla remix!

Mayookh Bhaumik, who looks up to American singer-songwriter and electronic musician Skrillex, has come up with a tabla remix of one of his tracks. The young percussionist took Skrillex’sDirty vibe (from the album Recess), featuring Diplo, and mixed it with tabla beats to lend it a classical flavour.
Mayookh, who garnered praise as the music director of Hrid Majhare, and is currently working on his project, Black Coffee, said, “This was an impromptu effort.I consider Skrillex to be a master rhythm designer and experimenting with a track of his seemed up my street. I love EDM and in this remix, I worked with trapstep and dubstep. I have also used idioms of classical tabla like laggi, peshkar and chalan to construct the track.” It took Mayookh just an hour to mix the track, which is a little less than three minutes.
So, does he plan to use this track commercially? “I am releasing it online and it’ll be available for free download. I am also planning to use this in my live set. But as of now, there’s no plan of using it commercially. I just hope Skrillex gets to hear it someday,” he signed off with a smile.
