Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie Wears Beautiful Lace Wedding Dress as She Marries Kit Harington in Scotland: Details

The man who knows nothing now knows something about marriage. Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, whose on-screen characters also fell in love in the HBO fantasy series, both stepped out for their wedding on Saturday, June 23.

The nuptials took place at Rayne Church in the local village of Kirkton of Rayne, Aberdeenshire. Meanwhile, other festivities for the wedding weekend are set to take place at the family estate of the bride, Wardhill Castle, a 12th century property in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The couple’s marriage notice was officially posted in May by the local registration office.

The bride looked beautiful in a lace wedding dress as she was accompanied by her father, who was dressed in traditional Scottish garb. Harington grinned as he made his way to the ceremony.

A wedding tent was erected on the grounds of the estate and signs were posted throughout the property to direct guests to the wedding. One read “Happily Ever After” with an arrow pointing to the general vicinity of the ceremony.

Malin Akerman, Jack Donnelly and other close friends of the couple were photographed flying into Scotland and the UK in the days leading up to the nuptials.

Of course, many of Harington and Leslie’s co-stars, show runners and crew members from the Emmy-winning show based on George RR Martin’s books were there to witness the union. Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and others joined the couple in support and solidarity. (“Their wedding is going to be siiiiick,” Clarke recently told Vanity Fair in a cover story.)

Comically, Harington and Leslie used Game of Thrones-themed postage to mail out their wedding invitations. Some of the postage stamps included images of Jon Snow and others featured Daenerys Targaryen.

The couple first met back in 2012 while filming their scenes “North of the Wall.” They remained low-key with their relationship until walking their first red carpet together in 2016. In September 2017, their engagement was included in a tiny snippet in the Times paper.
