Fired Fostoria track coach allegedly left decayed dog in bedroom

A Fostoria track coach has been fired for accusations of texting nude photos to underage students.

Allegedly Nelson Cousin, 28, sent inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old Fostoria student last spring. Documents also allege he sent one teen a nude photo and she sent a picture back of her behind. Police said Cousin also asked a 13-year-old for "naughty" pictures. That minor told authorities, Cousin was her track coach at Fostoria Junior and Senior High School.

Cousin was first placed in paid administrative leave before he was fired.

When authorities did a home check they found Cousin's three children living in deplorable conditions.

According to Fostoria Municipal Court documents, Cousin allowed his children to sleep in the living room on a couch that "smelled like urine." The children were in the living room because a dog was dead in a bedroom. Documents 13abc obtained state Cousin left the dog in the bedroom "so long that it had decayed." The fire department had to remove the dog because "the dog corpse had bug bombs on top of it to kill maggots."

Authorities also found trash throughout the house. The odor was so foul the smell forced several officers outside because they became nauseous.

Authorities were at the home on April 4, 2017 and made a conclusion that "the condition of the residence created a substantial risk to his children." 13abc observed Cousin's three children playing outside the home on Wednesday. 13abc was told Cousin was not home.

A report was filed back in April to the Seneca County Job and Family

Services.

Cousin has been charged with three counts of contributing to the unruliness of a child, four counts of child endangerment, and one count of violating the prohibitions concerning companion animals.

According to Fostoria Municipal Court documents, Cousin entered not guilty pleas on all charges.
