AGARTALA: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's three-day visit to the poll-bound state from Saturday.
This will be Bhagwat's second visit to the state in four years, during which he will meet organizational chiefs of the northeastern state and review RSS activities in Tripura.
He will address a rally at Vivekananda Stadium here on Sunday.
"We have been given his detailed itinerary and all arrangements have been made as per norms," a state home department official said.
Bhagwat is covered by Z-plus security.
Home department officials said Bhagwat will also hold brainstorming sessions with RSS pracharaks on the influence of Christian missionaries among tribal communities. He is also scheduled to attend a programme organized by the Tripura Hindu Malayama Parichalan Samity, which aims to "unite Hindu believers".
RSS activist and former Tripura IGP Bimal Kanti Roy said more than 3,000 community-level meetings have been conducted in the state over the last six months to ensure Bhagwat's visit is a success. They expect a 30,000-strong turnout at the Agartala rally, which Muslim, Christian and Buddhist leaders have also been invited to attend.

"RSS has been working hard across the state, especially in tribal belts, by running schools and offering services to strengthen the organizational base," he added.
There has been a huge surge in the activities of RSS in Tripura since 2014. One-third of the state assembly seat
s are reserved for tribals. As BJP tries to make inroads into the last Left bastion, reaching out to tribals is crucial to electoral fortunes, political analysts said.
