Saturday high school volleyball roundup:

Jimmy John’s Classic MARSHALL -- The Murray County Central Rebels placed fifth Saturday in the Gold Division of the Jimmy John’s Classic at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.

MCC completed the two-day tournament with a 2-1 loss to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, a 2-1 win over Heron Lake-Okabena and a 2-1 win over Adrian. Scores were 20-25, 25-20, 11-5 against R-T-R, 23-25, 25-22, 15-2 against HL-O and 25-22, 13-25, 15-20 against Adrian.

Alyssa Groves totaled 38 kills on the day for MCC. Courtney Schmitz had 56 digs and Brianna Schmitz had 48 set assists.

Adrian, which defeated Central Christian 25-13, 25-22 and topped St. James Area 25-13, 25-17 on Friday, lost to MACCRAY, Montevideo and MCC on Saturday. Scores for the first two matches on the second day were 17-25, 21-25 against MACCRAY, 17-25, 25-16, 15-19 against Montevideo.

The Worthington Trojans finished in sixth place in the white bracket.

The Trojans lost 2-1 to Springfield on Saturday (25-23, 19-25, 12-15), beat Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 2-0 (25-14, 25-17) and lost 2-0 to Renville County West (20-25, 19-25).

Anna Meyer had 21 points serving with four aces. Kara Thuringer scored 18 points with four aces. And Steph Bauman scored 16 points with one ace.

Sophie Wietzema had 21 kills, Madisyn Huisman 14, Gracie Barber 13 and Maya Scheitel-Taylor 10.

Barber also had eight blocks.

Ellsworth 3, CCE 2 ELLSWORTH -- Ashlyn Meester had 11 kills, four service aces, seven digs and a block as Ellsworth edged Clay Central-Everly in five games.

Scores were 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-10.

Kallie Chapa had seven kills. Morgan Dreesen had 19 set assists. Lizzie Chapa added seven digs.
