State Officials Respond to Forest Fire Burning in Upstate New York

Crews from New York, Vermont and Canada were responding to a 300-acre forest fire near Altona Flat Rock in New York’s Clinton County, close to the US-Canada border, that began on July 12 and continued to burn on July 13, according to NBC 5.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo deployed Forest Rangers on July 12 to assist with the fire. The New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services tweeted on July 13 that more than 40 state personnel were on hand to assist local officials.
