'Ray Donovan' star Pooch Hall avoids jail in plea deal over DUI, child-endangerment charges

"Ray Donovan" star Pooch Hall won't face jail time as part of a plea deal entered Tuesday relating to DUI and child-endangerment charges filed after an October car accident.

Hall, 45, identified as Marion Henry Hall in a Los Angeles district attorney's news release, admitted to driving under the influence with his 2-year-old son and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol content over .08 percent and child endangerment.

Hall, who plays Ray's half-brother, Daryll Donovan, was sentenced to three years probation and must complete three months at a residential alcohol-treatment program and attend a year of parenting classes. His driver's license was suspended for three months.

The child-endangerment charge initially was a felony that carried a potential six-year jail sentence, according to Deadline and The Wrap.

Hall was arrested Oct. 3 in Burbank, California, after his car swerved and struck a parked vehicle. No one was hurt in the crash.

At the time, witnesses told Burbank police Hall was "weaving in and out of traffic with a small child seated on his lap." Another bystander "reported seeing the child’s hands on the steering wheel," according to the police statement. 

Showtime didn't comment on Hall's plea deal. He remains a regular cast member on "Ray Donovan," which has been renewed for a seventh season.

Hall's other acting credits include "The Game," a TV series, and the films "Jumping the Broom," "Carter High," "Chuck" and "A Dog's Purpose."
