West Wing actress Allison Janney has said she would be "thrilled" to star in a revival of the political drama.

In an interview with the Daily Express, she said: "I love all my compadres from the West Wing. I've been seeing them a lot lately. I would love to walk the halls again with them at a fast-pace walk and talk. It would be a thrill.

"Here people are looking at the political scene and wishing there was a Jed Bartlet again. I'm with Hillary. I hope she can bring back some sense."

The actress did in fact play White House secretary CJ again recently, appearing in a White House press briefing room to raise awareness about opiate addiction.

Speaking at the Gracie Awards in LA, she said reprising CJ was "fantastic", adding: "I was so thrilled they asked me to come there.

"And then I got talked into it and thought: 'OK, I can do this'. It was pretty exciting to walk into that press briefing room as CJ and then once I became Allison all my nerves came out."
