Construction work in downtown Portland will close Southwest Clay Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues beginning 4 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. The Portland Bureau of Transportation said that  crane work will continue to block the street until 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. During the work, sidewalks on streets around the 1515 Market Street Building will also be closed. Drivers and pedestrians need to find an alternate route.

In Vancouver, bridge work on Padden Parkway will close the northbound Interstate 205 off-ramp to westbound Padden Parkway 9 p.m.-5 a.m. through Thursday, Nov. 8. Choose an alternate route.

Foggy conditions will greet drivers Wednesday morning and likely for each morning this week. In some areas, visibility is down to less than a quarter of a mile. In heavy fog conditions remember to leave extra stopping distance, drive with headlights on and watch carefully for bicyclists and pedestrians.
