There’s one more day in left in the first weekend of Musikfest’s 34th year in Bethlehem, so make it count.
Luckily, there’s a good lineup of music acts to help you.
Here are our Picks of the Platzes for Musikfest, Day 3:
Shelley King 9 p.m. Liederplatz.
A singer/songwriter who blends blues, rock, folk, country, soul and gospel, King was the first woman appointed by Texas as its official State Musician. She has played the Blast Furnace Blues Fest at SteelStacks and was at Musikfest last year.
Clubhouse, 11 p.m. Towne Square Community Stage
The Columbus, Ohio, alternative indie pop band has a wonderfully new wave-synth sound that’s in full bloom on its new single, “Kyra” and its previous single, the bright “Blame the Weather.”
Gentleman Brawlers 5 p.m. Volksplatz
The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based combo plays music with world rhythms, but its infused with funk, rock and soul revival sensibilities.
Summer Scouts, 6 p.m. Plaza Tropical
The female-fronted, Allentown-based indie rock band blends pop with post-rock. The group has performed many times in the area since 2013 and opened for Echosmith, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, The Struts and others.
Appalachian Gypsy Tribe, 5:30 p.m. Main Street
The New Tripoli-based Americana-folk-bluegrass group comes close to being a jam band, but more truly is a rambling rock outfit reminiscent of The Band.
