Salem-Keizer won its third consecutive game Sunday night, defeating Tri-City 7-2 in front of 2,070 at Volcanoes Stadium.
The Volcanoes again had a big night on offense, pounding out seven runs. Salem-Keizer has scored at least five runs in seven of its last nine games.
The Volcanoes didn't waste any time getting the scoring started, jumping all over Tri-City starter Angel Mejia (1-2, 7.63 ERA) for four runs in the first. Salem-Keizer sent all nine batters to the plate in the frame - the first four of which reached and eventually came around to score. They collected only three hits in the inning but cashed in on several Tri-City miscues, including a balk, an error and two walks.

The Volcanoes committed several mistakes of their own the following frame and allowed Tri-City right back in it. Henry Charles led off the inning with a walk and later advanced to third when Ty France reached on a Jose Vizcaino Jr. throwing error. Volcanoes starter Nolan Riggs, fighting his command, then threw a pair of wild pitches that scored Charles and moved France to third. The next batter, Mason Smith, grounded out, scoring France and cutting the Volcanoes lead to 4-2.
Shilo McCall extended the Volcanoes' advantage in the fourth, blasting a two-run home run over the right field fence. Chase Compton had led off the frame with a single before McCall hit his second homer of the season. Salem-Keizer tacked on another run when Jebavy tripled to deep center and came in to score on a Junior Amion sacrifice fly, pushing the lead to 7-2.

Riggs lasted only two innings but extended his streak without allowing an earned run to 16 2/3 innings. E.J. Encinosa (1-0, 2.25 ERA), who came in relief of Riggs in the third, picked up the win. The bullpen fired seven shutout innings following Riggs' exit.
Player of the Game: Shilo McCall was on base three times and blasted a two-run homer in the fourth that blew the game open for Salem-Keizer. Now in his third season with the Volcanoes, McCall is having his best season as a professional, hitting .265 with two home runs.
Up Next: The Volcanoes continue their series with the Tri-City Dust Devils tomorrow night. Drew Leenhouts (2-1, 2.41 ERA) will start for Salem-Keizer. First pitch is set for 6:35.
