Malaysia, Singapore shares extend gains as trade fear fizzles

Investors continue pick up more Asian equities as recent selldown is overdone

KUALA LUMPUR (Nikkei Markets) -- Malaysia and Singapore shares extended gains on Thursday as investors racked up more finance stocks, drawing comfort from muted impact of U.S.-China trade war on global markets.

The FBM KLCI ended 0.2% higher at 1803.70 while the Straits Times Index closed up 0.1% at 3180.43. Bursa Malaysia Finance Index climbed 0.4% while the FTSE ST Financials Index in Singapore gained 0.1%.
