WISCONSIN, (WAOW) -- A bipartisan effort between Congressmen Tom Tiffany, Glenn Grotham, Ron Kind and other lawmakers honors the Hmong community.
Dubbed the Hmong Congressional Gold Medal Act, it seeks to recognize Hmong soldiers who helped the U.S. during the Vietnam War.
In a news release, Representative Kind said Wisconsin is home to the third largest Hmong population in the nation. The bill will next go to the Senate, if approved there it will go to the President's desk before being signed into law.
