Gabby Collingwood returns for the Brisbane Lions this weekend after AFLW Coach Craig Starceivch named her in his final team to take on the Melbourne Demons earlier today.

Collingwood played in Round 1’s win over the GWS GIANTS but did not play in last weekend’s loss to the Fremantle Dockers.

Determined defender Bre Koenen has been named in the team for the first time this season, after missing the opening two rounds due to a knee injury.

Jade Ellenger and Nat Grider have been named as emergencies for the Lions this weekend. Both are still to make their debut for the team.

Sunday's clash against the Demons will be the first time the Lions play for points in Brisbane with the match set to take place at Wilston Grange Football Club's grounds, Hickey Park.

The last time the Lions and Demons met was at Casey Fields in Round 5, 2018 where the Demons finished off with a six point win.

This weekend vice-captain Kate Lutkins says the Lions are hoping to shape a different story.

"We're looking at bringing a lot of intensity and energy to the ground this weekend," Lutkins said.

"We have similar game styles [to the Demons] and it'll be a really good quality match.

"We're really looking forward to the hard contest out there."

*The game will be broadcast on Fox Footy nation-wide and on 7Mate in Brisbane with bounce at 3.35pm AEST.
