Jennifer Boomgaarden has resigned as the Executive Director of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. 

After eight years in the lead role Boomgaarden has accepted a new position as the President and CEO of the Omaha Symphony. 

Since her appointment She has continued the development of the Lakota Music Project, added Music as Medicine, and Carnegie Hall’s Link Up as well as a residency and mentoring program.

SDSO was awarded the Bush Prize for Community Innovation for getting the community involved with the group. 

The Board of Directors is already searching for her replacement.
