Three associates have joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage to further their real estate careers.

They are Jason Newhauser, Julie Gustavson and Jelena Roberts.

Newhauser, a University of Michigan alum with a double major in political science and economics, moved to Charleston 15 years ago after his first visit and has been "a happy resident ever since," the agency notes. The Realtor of Distinction with 15 years experience believes it's his job to help house hunters meet their goals. "This includes deciding if it is the right time for you to buy or sell," he says.

Originally from Chicago, Gustavson "fell in love" with the Charleston area after attending graduate school at the College of Charleston to earn a master's degree in education, Coldwell Banker notes.

She taught in the Charleston public school system for 10 years before starting in real estate. She's spent four of her five years in real estate working in new construction. "If you are looking to build," she would be a top resource, the brokerage says. Gustvason is a "dedicated professional and ready to assist you with all your real estate needs," according to Coldwell Banker.

Roberts, originally from Riga, Latvia, speaks fluent Russian and English. She moved to the U.S. 15 years ago, earning an interior design degree in Atlanta. While in college, she also obtained her real estate license and started gaining experience investing in homes with her husband, Coldwell Banker says. She moved to Charleston with her family and "truly loves the area," the agency says. Roberts boasts experience staging and remodeling homes and has a passion for helping others, according to Coldwell Banker. She volunteers with My Sister's House and attends The Church at Life Park in Mount Pleasant with her family. Reach Roberts at 843-819-8141.

A veteran company at overseeing homeowners' associations recently added new staff in the Lowcountry.

Southern Community Services, which describes itself as one of six community association firms in South Carolina with Accredited Association Management Company credentials, named eight new Charleston area employees and boosted the profile of another local manager.

"Our new team members bring a great deal of experience from both within the real estate industry and outside of it," says Ken Tamsin, chief executive of Southern Community Services. "Our communities will benefit from their expertise, energy and new insights," he says.

The company's moves include:

  • Hiring Barbara Liantonio as an architectural review board coordinator for Dunes West, an upscale, mixed-development community in Mount Pleasant. She has prior experience as an area manager for Dannon Yogurt.
  • Naming Lisa Tumminelli community administrator for Dunes West. She was a corporate trainer, help desk support staff member, computer technician and a substitute teacher. The combined experiences "bring new ideas and fresh perspectives" to Dunes West, the company says.
  • Adding Tess Gillis as an administrative assistant at Park West, a family-friendly and nature-preserving Mount Pleasant community.
  • Bringing on Nancy Curtis as community manager for Hamlin Plantation. She has seven years of experience in the community management field.

  • Picked Kelli Baker as a community manager in the North Charleston office. She brings background from the hotel and hospitality industry. Amanda Harper continues as a community association manager in her Mount Pleasant hometown.
  • Upgraded Mary Fraser to assistant manager at I’On Assembly Inc. The Mount Pleasant resident formerly was office manager for the firm at Park West.
