Kris Ajer has lifted the lid on the no-nonsense Celtic dressing room regulations that have been hitting Mohamed Elyounoussi in the pocket.

The Norway internationals have been guilty of talking in their native tongue and the 21-year-old defender admits the pair have been feeling the pinch.

Elyounoussi has made a fast start to life in Glasgow after leaving Southampton, just 12 months after his £16m move from Basel.

But Ajer admits it hasn't been all plain sailing when the pals converse in the Celtic dressing room but it's the winger who is being charged on a different tarriff.

Ajer told TV2 : "We get fined every time we speak Norwegian.

"I’m good at chatting away, so it ends with Moi having to pay a fine, while I get away with it."

Interviewer: "£50 every time you speak Norwegian?"

Ajer: "£100 every time you speak Norwegian. And if you come from Southampton, it’s £200."

The Hoops pair are currently on international duty and will take on Spain on Saturday as Norway look to reignite their Euro 2020 bid.

Ajer is confident a chilly Oslo night can be leveller against Robert Moreno's side.

He added: "Hopefully a cold, cold October evening against the Spaniards will help us."
