Phoenix Open: What You Need To Know About Parking, Security, More

From first round tee-off to performances at the Coors Light Birds Nest Entertainment tent to where to park there's plenty to know

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Waste Management Phoenix Open festivities are underway and the first round tee-off is at 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Over the next four days, while golf is the main attraction, there's plenty else going on.

Here's a Patch guide to some of the activities along with things you need to know like where to park and can you bring your cell phone with you.

WHERE AND HOW MUCH?

The tournament takes place at TPC Scottsdale at 17020 North Hayden Road.

Tickets on Thursday and Sunday are $40 and $50 on Friday and Saturday.

People under 17 can get in for free when accompanied by an adult. First responders and members of the military can also get in for free. They need to register at a page set-up by the Open.

WHERE TO PARK

There are two free lots:

Lot H at Loop 101 and Hayden Road. There is a shuttle to take you from the lot to the tournament entrance. It runs Thursday through Saturday from7 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 4, 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m..

WestWorld of Scottsdale: WestWorld at 16601 N Pima Road. The shuttle runs Thursday through Saturday from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m..

If you're being dropped off and picked up there's a designated area at Hayden and Bell Roads by the Expo Village.

WHEN

The first and second rounds tee-off at 7:30 in the morning. Rounds three and four start at 9 a.m..

The Coors Light Birds Nest Entertainment Tent opens Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 3:30 p.m..

GETTING THROUGH SECURITY

• Bag inspection will be performed at all Admission Gates while gates are open.

• Opaque bags, including purses, are not to exceed 6”x 6”x 6” in their natural state. Guests will not be allowed to

empty and collapse a non-approved bag into a clear bag.

• Clear tote bags, plastic, vinyl, or other carry items are not to exceed 12”x 6”x 12”.

• Volunteers bringing additional items to their assigned shifts must use a clear bag that does not exceed 12”x 6”x 12”.

All volunteers will pass through a security checkpoint prior to entering the golf course.

• Everyone attending the tournament is subject to search at the entrances and on the course at any time.

• Metal detecting wands will be used at each entrance gate on everyone including volunteers, spectators, working staff, and media.

There is also a list of items you're not allowed to bring including backpacks, seat cushions, and laser pointers.

FOLLOWING ALONG

If you go, there are two basic ways to watch: parade style where you pick a spot and watch the show march by and cross country style where you follow a player or group from hole to hole.

CELLPHONES

They are allowed but make you the ringer is off and, under no circumstances, will you be allowed to post live results or livesream any of the action, That will get you removed.
