Lindsay Lohan has been to rehab five times, and done multiple stints in jail -- all by the tender age of 26.

This impressive resume somehow has her mother, Dina Lohan, believing that she's qualified to give advice to other parents.

In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" the 50-year-old, who recently admitted that she regrets pushing Lindsay into show business, at least was hesitant to offer advice to the parents of another troubled actress -- Amanda Bynes.

"You know, I'm a mother, and I feel that that's for her mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself, so I really feel that's for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself," she told "ET."

But when asked for general advice for parents since she's been through similar situations, Dina said, "Just be around. … It's hard when your daughter's not, you know, over 18, and you want to let them go … and they want to, you know, feel like they're in control of themselves. So it's a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she'll be ok."

Though Lindsay is a staple in the headlines these days, Dina herself has been a newsmaker, especially after a bizarre interview with Dr. Phil, in which she seemed inebriated. Dina has denied being drunk at the interview, but she's also recently come under fire for drinking with Lindsay at her recent 50th birthday party.

“My 80-year-old mother was there, and she’s Italian-American, and to be able to have a glass of red wine there for her is normal for our family,” Dina told the New York Daily News. “Some people who want to quit drinking do it cold turkey and some do it gradually — you want to keep a balance. I don’t know what’s a right way or a wrong way.”
