Malakoff, December 15, 2016 -SPIE ICS, the digital services subsidiary of the SPIE Group, and Equinix, the world's interconnection leader, have joined forces to help their major clients, both in France and internationally, with their private and hybrid Cloud computing projects. This strategic partnership places them amongst the most advanced companies worldwide in terms of Cloud hosting capacity.

A hybrid Cloud operates both locally and internationally

The partnership between SPIE ICS and Equinix will create high-added-value synergies for their major clients based in France and having an international presence. The study conducted in 2016 by Pierre Audouin consulting with SPIE ICS on the subject of the hybrid Cloud* shows that 40% on businesses and organisations choose their solution based on the proximity of their suppliers' data centers. Already present in the area thanks to its partnership with TDF, SPIE ICS, by partnering with Equinix, is expanding its field of activity to extend its Cloud hosting services to international companies.

Combining the expertise of SPIE ICS and Equinix will also help provide better services to French clients as they develop their international business. Already having a presence in Europe through SPIE Group's other subsidiaries, and belonging to the international network Global Workspace Alliance, SPIE ICS will now, thanks to Equinix, be able to extend its Cloud services internationally directly from France.

'With Equinix Cloud Exchange, SPIE ICS can combine its private Cloud offering with access to public Cloud platforms. This hybridisation has become absolutely necessary because of new uses, transformed by the Internet of Things', explains Romain Barrallon, head of development for Cloud & Managed Services at SPIE ICS.

Pascal Catelineau, the partnership manager for Equinix France, states: 'SPIE ICS is an integrally important partner for our 'channel' development. SPIE's service, in combination with the Equinix ecosystem in its datacenters, provides real added value for our clients.'

A simpler user experience

The partnership between SPIE ICS and Equinix will provide greater availability and better performance in terms of access and physical security for the Cloud infrastructures of their respective clients. Equinix's datacenters, located both in Europe and around the world, will serve as relays for SPIE ICS' Cloud services, meaning clients can enjoy personalised and flexible services. The end result is an improved experience for the end user of the Cloud services, with considerably lower latency.

'Our collaboration with Equinix represents a genuine opportunity for our clients. We shall now be able to better support our French clients with international reach, thanks to homogeneous hybrid-Cloud and externalisation services, with high-quality access and service all over the world', concludes Romain Barrallon.
