Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of central Pa.

UPDATE: The warning has been extended into the northern tier of Cumberland County, from roughly Newburg, to Carlisle, to Mechanicsburg, until 4:15 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of central Pennsylvania, north and west of Harrisburg, until 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service at State College.

The warning in effect for Schuylkill County, southern Northumberland County, northern Dauphin County, northeastern Juniata County, Snyder County, southeastern Columbia County and Perry County.

"At 3:14 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Rock Glen to Kulpmont to near Richfield to near Honey Grove, moving east at 50 mph.," forecasters said.

Wind gusts of 70 mph and hail the size of limes are possible, forecasters said.
