How many teen pregnancies have there been on Coronation Street over the years?

One of the current dramas on the Corrie cobbles is the teen pregnancy of Amy McDonald.

The daughter of Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonalds has found herself with child at the tender age of 14, and everyone’s wondering who the father is.

The schoolgirl, played by Elle Mulvaney, is having to decide whether or not she keeps the baby, as well as who will raise it once it’s born.

It’s certainly not the first time there’s been a storyline like this, however, and Amy even gets advice from one of the young mothers who’s previously featured on the soap.

Sarah Louise Platt

Young Sarah Lou, daughter of Gail, shocked the nation when she became pregnant as a 13 year old.

19 years ago this story was much more controversial, and was the first time something like this was really raised on television.

The baby’s father was a schoolmate of Sarah, Neil Fearns, although her parents had suspected it may be someone older. Neil died in 2003, after being in a car crash.

That baby turned out to be Bethany Platt, who is now a big part of the show, and has been kidnapped, nearly took an overdose, and moved to Milan for a stint too.

Faye Windass

In 2015, the soap has its second teen pregnancy, when Faye Windass had baby Miley.

Faye’s biological dad is Tim Metcalfe, but she was adopted as a child by Eddie and Anna Windass.

The teen, played by Ellie Leach, was being severely bullied, but had a secret relationship with classmate Jackson Hodge.

He initially denied being the father, but once he owned up, he ended up taking her away to Canada.

It was Faye who was asked for advice by Amy McDonald, given that her experience was only a few years back.

That’s three teenage pregnancies in Weatherfield now, and with two outcomes in the earlier ones, it’s anyone’s guess which path Amy will choose.
