Charlotte Crosby admits she’d miss reality TV fame as she addresses MTV aftercare

Charlotte has opened on the negatives of fame – but wouldn’t change her career for the world She’s been on our screens since the age of 20, however Charlotte Crosby doesn’t see a day where she’d never not be in the spotlight. Catapulted to fame on reality TV series Geordie Shore the 28-year-old presenter is about to embark on a new series of MTV’s Just Tattoo Of Us and is loving life. With immense television and international fame comes a double-edged sword that has been a hot topic in pop culture circles as of late. Following the death of Mike Thalassitis in March and, earlier, the passing of fellow Love Island star Sophie Gradon, celebrities have been calling to arms a change in the aftercare provided to stars battling the fresh interactions with sudden fame. Charlotte is leading the show on Just Tattoo Of Us, after finding fame on reality TV (Picture: Ian Tuttle) While many stars have said more needed to be done by networks to make sure its stars assimilated into their new lives safely, Charlotte has nothing but praise for the level of care she received leaving the Geordie Shore house for the first time. ‘My whole nine years with MTV I’ve had support before the show, on the show, after it, even when you’re not on the show – they’re a phone call away,’ she told Metro.co.uk. ‘You grow a thick skin and with every negative comment there are 20 nice ones, so you have to focus on the positive. It’s so easy to dwell on the negative things that happen in life, but if you don’t look around you don’t notice the positives. Everyone is different and people cope in different ways so I can only talk from personal experience, I think I as a person don’t get too down about it.’ Mike died last month (Picture: Getty Images Europe) We’ve seen everything from Charlotte puke on TV, to have sex, and break her nose (not at the same time, we should add). She’s certainly lived a life in front of the lens – which begs the question, would she ever step away from the cameras? ‘I’ve proactively lived my whole life no holds barred, every single part of my life has been on TV so it’s hard to be embarrassed or shocked or unnerved on filming anything,’ she said. ‘It’s a very strange experience, I would have never thought my life would have led to this. ‘There are times you feel like that, then all of a sudden you think I couldn’t live without it. Times you have your down days and there might be loads of people writing all over Twitter and you wish people didn’t know so they didn’t comment. ‘Then if it was all gone tomorrow I would truly miss it.’ Now she’s fronting Just Tattoo Of Us solo, helming the show she calls her baby. She admits ‘never in a million years’ did she expect people would still be up for the ultimate trust exercise of allowing a mate to pick a tattoo for them. ‘I thought when the first series came out everyone would be too scared to come on. But every series we do we get more applications,’ she laughed. ‘I love getting celebrity guests, it’s so funny to watch them get put through torture. They come on and think we’re going to get it so easy, but they don’t and then suddenly you see them panicking and sweating.’ The presenter is also just as proud she’s managed to stick out the show in front of the camera as other presenters come and go.
