Post Sale Update: This B33 sold for $6,750 after 20 bids on eBay.

Introduced in 1947, the B33 gets very little glory compared to BSA’s performance bikes like the Gold Star, but this is what got many Brits around for many years – production ended in 1960. The B33 was a sales success because it was reliable, and they’re still relatively easy to take care of now with decent parts availability. This example isn’t perfect but it was restored in the mid-2000s

Basic specifications include a 499cc single (there was also a 349cc model called the B31) that produced 23 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and was capable of just topping 80 miles per hour. Realistically, you’d be happiest riding around at 55. A full swingarm rear suspension was introduced in 1954. For more on the B33, check out this BSA “Big Singles” Buyer’s Guide on Real Classic.

This bike (Frame #: CB31.10827, Engine #: BB33. 6308) was restored 10-15 years ago and it’s done less than 1,000 miles since the work was performed. Per the seller, it is 100% correct (though later he notes that the sidestand isn’t correct) and everything works. He/she notes that “it is a rider and not perfect” and it’s in “well above average condition” despite a small dent in the tank and some other minor cosmetic issues.
