NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission has opened a new job center, aiming to connect unhoused residents in the area to employment. The new facility features a computer lab, where people can search for jobs online, update their resume, or access other necessary services to get back on their feet.

Along with computers, the site also includes employment specialists, who will be in the room to provide resources for day laborers, and connect job seekers to other employment services. The job center will be available to all who enter, regardless of citizenship status, age or other qualities.

"We recognize in order for people to end their homelessness, they have to have income,"
said Ken Craft, Hope of the Valley CEO. "We assist them here by helping them find jobs and connecting them to employment.

"Normally this time of year, our CFO and Ken Craft our CEO are training for the LA Marathon," Hope of the Valley said. "It is traditionally our largest fundraiser in the first quarter of the year. Due to Covid, it is cancelled this year, but we still need to raise money for the Mission especially this year as we prepare to open 6 new shelters and add over 600 beds."
