So, Margot Robbie walks into a bar…
While it may sound like the start to a bad joke, the Australian actress, who plays Jane opposite Alexander Skarsgard in the upcoming “Tarzan,” admitted to making regular secret trips to the pub in spite of her strict diet regiment.
“A good friend of mine was the trainer on the film set. He was doing his absolute best to keep me in line and get in shape,” the 25-year-old beauty told Total Film Magazine. “I was a naughty school kid. I would just run off and go to the pub. He would be like, ‘Margot, what’s the point of this workout?'”
In spite of drinking in the amount of calories she’d work off, “The Wolf of Wall Street” star admitted she couldn’t resist the calling of London pubs while filming on location for the upcoming jungle flick. She also pointedly expressed her disbelief that a woman like her character Jane, would be super thin anyway.
“I was like, ‘It’s the 19th century. If she’s got a bit of weight on her it’s probably a good thing,” Robbie said. “I’m not going to look thin just for the sake of it. No, she should have a woman’s body.
“So yes, I was very defiant for selfish reasons. I wanted to go everywhere and try every pub!”
“Tarzan,” directed by David Yates, is slated to hit theaters July 1, but it’s not the only blockbuster Robbie will be appearing in this summer. She also stars as Harley Quinn, in the much anticipated “Suicide Squad” scheduled to make its way to the big screen August 5.
