MONTGOMERY — Eric and Marguerite Solomon were married for 60 years, and sweethearts since the age of 10, before they died together last week, according to an obituary posted on NJ.com.
They were both 80 years old when they died. Police are investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide.
At about 1 a.m. Aug. 9, police found the Solomons in a bedroom on the first floor of their Griggstown Road home, both suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
Paramedics were unable to revive the pair, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have categorized the investigation as a murder-suicide, however the prosecutor's office has not yet made a statement regarding who shot whom.

An autopsy was scheduled for both Eric and Marguerite Solomon at the state Medical Examiner's Office.
In 1953, the Solomons were married at St. James Church, in Pennington, where they lived until 1977, when they moved to Princeton, the obituary reads.
Both graduated from Hopewell Valley High School, while Eric Solomon graduated Rider College and served in the U.S. Army, and Marguerite Solomon attended Ladycliff College, according to the obituary.
Eric Solomon worked for his father-in-law at Volk Motors before opening his own dealership, Solomon Dodge, the obituary reads. He also spent a few terms on the Pennington Town Council and was chairman of the board at Country Day School.
Marguerite Solomon was a homemaker, active at St. James Church and together with her husband, hosted international students for Princeton University, according to the obituary.
The pair retired to Grassy Key, Fla., in 1988, where they ran a summer camp for their 14 grandchildren until they moved back to New Jersey in 2001— to Belle Mead — to be closer to family, according to the obituary.
The Solomons are survived by four children and their families, the obituary says.
A Mass celebrating both Eric and Marguerite Solomon will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 47 Skillman Road, in Skillman.
