Pulaski Club

Blood drive

Florida’s Blood Centers is seeking donors. All blood types are in very short supply. Anyone at least 17 years old, weighing 110 pounds and in generally good health may be an eligible donor.

Summer Food Services

Volusia County Human Services is sponsoring the Summer Food Services program for children during June and July. It provides nutritionally balanced meals to children during the summer, when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. Interpretive programs

Pontoon Boat Cruise of the Backwaters of Mosquito Lagoon. Journey with a park ranger to the colorful places that lend character to the estuary. Cost: $13 for the two-hour tour. Reservations required. Space is limited. Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting.

Summer Camps

Robotics Summer Camp

Students in sixth to 12th grade will be able to design and build robots during two robotics camps in July at the Advanced Technology Center in Daytona Beach.

The beginner’s program will be July 17-21. The advanced class, for students who previously attended an ATC robotics camp, will be July 10-14.

Each program costs $110 per student. Each class is limited to 30 students.

The Casements

Marine Science Center

Registration is under way for the Marine Science Center Summer Camps, 100 Lighthouse Drive in Ponce Inlet, which offer a week of outdoor and environmental activities such as fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, boating and games.

Marine Explorer Camp: June 12-16 for children in 10th to 12th grade; June 26-30 for children in fourth to sixth grade; July 10-14 for children in seventh to ninth grade. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: $90.

Master Marine Camp: Camp alumni are invited to a camp that includes offshore fishing, snorkeling and kayaking. Camp dates are July 31 and Aug. 3. Cost: $115.

Keys Explorer Camp: This camp is for Marine Explorer and Master Marine camp alumni only. Campers will immerse themselves in an educational adventure in the Florida Keys. Participants will learn about coral reef, mangrove and sea grass ecology and enjoy boat trips, snorkeling, plankton tows and more. Camp dates are July 25-28. Cost: $525.

Summer Stars 2006

Volusia County Community Schools will offer a musical theater camp for students in first through eighth grade at Atlantic High School, 1250 Reed Canal Road in Port Orange.

Pioneer Settlement
