Starbucks added ice cream to the menu at select U.S. stores on Wednesday.

More than 100 locations in Orange County, Calif., are now serving affogatos, a coffee-based Italian indulgence.

The European sweet treat combines vanilla ice cream and a shot of hot or cold espresso and runs $5.25 to $6.45.

A more upscale — and expensive — take on the same ice cream-and-coffee dessert is also being test driven and available at 10 reserve bar Starbucks locations in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore and Boston.

Fancy coffee beans go into this treat, which will cost $6 to $8.50.

Affogatos aren’t brand new to Starbucks.
