      FRIDAY: Philadelphia punk band the Menzingers plays the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Broadway Calls and Carpenter.

      FRIDAY: Vancouver guitar-rockers 54-40 perform the first of two nights at the Commodore Ballroom.

      FRIDAY: American indie-rock band Rainer Maria plays the Cobalt, tours in support of latest album S/T.

      FRIDAY: American jazz guitarist Gene Bertoncini plays Alliance Française.

      FRIDAY: Caravan World Rhythms and the Rogue Folk Club present Trio da Kali: Masters of Mali at St. James Hall.
