COLUMBIA STREET WATERFRONT DISTRICT — The highly anticipated hot chicken restaurant from celebrity chef Carla Hall has closed down temporarily, the eatery said last week.

Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen, at 115 Columbia St. at the corner of Kane Street, is going dark due to "power related issues," according to the restaurant's website.

On Aug. 8, the restaurant posted on Facebook that it "will be closed until further notice. Very sorry for the inconvenience. We are working to have this resolved as swiftly as possible. Please check back for future updates."

The restaurant had previously made a Facebook post on Aug. 6 that it was continuing to "experience power related issues." The closure was first reported by Eater NY.

Hall's restaurant was initially scheduled to open in February, but was delayed with renovation and design. It finally hosted its soft opening on Memorial Day, with an official opening in June.

There is no further information on when the restaurant will reopen.
