MINSK, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' gross foreign debt amounted to 39.9 billion U.S. dollars as of Jan. 1, 2018, the central bank said in its statistical report.
The gross foreign debt in all sectors of the economy increased by 2.4 billion dollars, or by 6.4 percent, in 2017.
However, the ratio of gross external debt to GDP decreased to 73.4 percent at the beginning of 2018 against 78 percent at the beginning of 2017.
As of Jan. 1, 2018, per-capita gross external debt amounted to 4,207 dollars, compared to 3,947 dollars as of Jan. 1, 2017.
