The Kossuth County Sheriff's Office says deputies and medics were sent around 12:50 a.m. Saturday to provide medical assistance and investigate a report of a domestic assault in Lakota.

Court records say 45-year-old Chad Dietrick, of Lakota, is charged with first-degree murder and with a related weapons count. The records don't list the name of an attorney who could comment for him.
An autopsy has been ordered.
