Area Law Enforcement Nab Man Suspected of Ramming Police Car

The man accused of ramming a Moorhead police car and fleeing the scene last week, is now in custody.

Jeffrey Garten, 30, faces charges of assault, fleeing and DWI.

The Metro Street Crimes Unit tracked him down on 3rd Ave South in Moorhead around 11 o’clock last night.

Police pulled over the vehicle he was in and he fled on foot but was caught a block away.

Savannah Hartsoch, 30, of Fargo was driving and she was arrested for possession of meth.

“Recognizing the dangers this person possess in the sequential bad decisions that he makes to avoid arrest, we put considerable efforts trying to locate him. We’re pleased to have in custody at this time,” says Lt. Tory Jacobson of Moorhead Police.

Garten is in the Clay County Jail.
