PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — City employees in Portsmouth will have a little extra money in their pockets soon.
Portsmouth City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously on an ordinance that allocated funds for the bonuses. Full-time employees will receive a $1,000 bonus, while retired workers will get $500.
According to Tuesday night’s agenda, the full-time bonus will apply to employees who started working before Jan. 1, 2018 and are still employed when the bonuses are paid.
