Johnny Depp accused of attacking Amber Heard for withholding meds during detox

Johnny Depp allegedly attacked Amber Heard when she withheld his meds while he was supposed to be detoxing on his private Caribbean island, his libel trial heard Thursday.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star went to his Little Hall’s Pond Cay in the Bahamas in August 2014 with then-fiancée Heard “acting like a nurse,” he told London’s High Court, according to the Daily Mail.

He is alleged to have slapped the actress and kicked her to the ground while having “spasms” and “shakes” from coming off “Roxxies,” or Roxicodone, a brand name for the addictive opioid oxycodone.

“All the sudden he’s flipping again,” Heard texted one of his doctors, according to the report.

“Just starting screaming – he was so mad he pushed me and I asked him to get out,” she allegedly wrote.

Depp denied the attack — along with all the others claimed by his ex — insisting he was too weak in detox to have been violent.

“I did not push Ms. Heard or attack her in any way, as I certainly was not in any condition to do so,” he told the court, according to the Standard.

He said his ex withheld the medications he needed, describing it as “one of the cruelest things she has ever done.”

He recalled how she would ignore his plight even when he got “the heebie-jeebies” with “the shakes, the stomach cramps,” the Standard said.

Depp described it as “at the lowest point in my life on the floor sobbing like a child, and still not received my meds.”

Despite his accusations of cruelty, he texted Heard’s mom to thank her daughter for looking after “this poor old junkie,” the court was told, according to The Sun.

“It was Amber and Amber only that got me through this, and it was not easy,” his text said, praising Heard’s “monumental patience and instinct.”

The couple would later get married on the island.

Depp’s private doctor, David Kipper, said the actor “romanticizes the entire drug culture” and pays “lip service” to the likes of Sir Elton John “more for their celebrity than their struggle with sobriety,” according to a letter read in court.

Medical notes also showed how Depp had punched a wall during a fight with Heard and was found “sitting in the kitchen with scraped and bloodied knuckles,” the Mail said.

“I would rather express my anger by hitting an inanimate object than … the person I love,” Depp told the court.

Depp was challenged by lawyer Sasha Wass over whether he could honestly remember each incident because he “blacked out on many, many occasions.”

“There were blackouts for sure, but in any blackout there are snippets of memory,” he said, according to the Mail.

Heard’s doctor, meanwhile, complained that Depp was threatened by her career — and was hospitalized because of jealousy over her working again with James Franco, who Depp has said had an affair with his wife.

“Her movie with JF (James Franco) precipitated a binge that put JD in the hospital,” the note by Dr. Connell Cowan said, according to the Mail.

“Everyone around J seems to be intimidated by his power and money. No one stands up to him.”

Depp suggested it was all part of what he claims is a “hoax” by his ex to frame him, telling the court, “I think she was telling porky pies with her psychiatrist.”

Depp is giving evidence for the third day in his libel case against The Sun newspaper over an April 2018 article that said he was a “wife-beater,” which he denies — and instead says his “sociopathic” ex-wife was the violent one in their marriage.

The Sun’s defense relies on Heard’s allegations of 14 incidents of violence by Depp between 2013 and 2016.
