Interstate 95 northbound has reopened after a crash involving a car and a box truck, state police said.

No one was injured in the crash, which occurred at 10:13 a.m. today near Midland Avenue and the border between Rye and Port Chester, Trooper Tara McCormick said.

The driver of the car was in the exit lane, tried to merge onto the highway and sideswiped a box truck, she said. Firefighters helped the driver get out of the car because the driver's side door would not open, she said.

The highway was shut down for a bit while the crash was cleared. All lanes had reopened by 11:15 a.m.

Traffic was backed up from Grace Church Street to Exit 19 for Playland Parkway until the crash was cleared.

The crash occurred in the area where police are closing traffic at times today and Thursday for construction roadwork as part of the "Last Mile project" on the I-95 corridor.
