Even though “Ted 2” has yet to hit theaters, it already has its own hashtag: #LegalizeTed.

The reason why becomes clear when watching the official trailer for the follow-up to the hit 2012 comedy, which debuted online Thursday.

The sequel finds Ted (voiced by the film’s co-writer/director Seth MacFarlane) tying the knot with his girlfriend Tami-Lynn, with his “thunder buddy” John (Mark Wahlberg) serving as his best man.

But the teddy bear and his new wife run into trouble when they learn they are legally barred from starting a family because Ted isn’t considered a person.

So with the help of John and a female attorney named Sam L. Jackson (Amanda Seyfried), Ted goes on a crusade to prove his personhood in a court of law. (Mila Kunis, who starred in the first film as John’s girlfriend, seems not to have reprised her role in the sequel.)

“(If) you want to be considered human in the eyes of the law, the important thing about being human is making a contributing to society,” an attorney (Morgan Freeman) advises him, which might tough considering the naughty bear’s past antics.

Meanwhile, John is helping out his furry friend in more ways than one: He’s also agreed to be Ted and Tami-Lynn’s sperm donor, leading to some raunchy slapstick involving his “donation.”

“Ted 2” is set to be unleashed in theaters June 26.
