ECC boys quarterfinals: NFA leads Fitch, 21-10, at the half

Staff reports

Fitch coach Gary Ballestrini said on Friday that his team has problems waking up for early games. So far, that has been the case as sixth-seeded Norwich Free Academy leads the third-seeded Falcons, 21-10, at halftime of the first Eastern Connecticut Conference boys basketball quarterfinal.

NFA senior center Trevor Bundy has been the difference thus far as he has scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Wildcats (9-12). Bundy also has two steals and a block. Jesus Rodriguez had three points and six rebounds, half of them off the offensive glass.

Fitch (13-7) made only four of its 20 first-half shots, Greg Porter and Josh Hohlfelder each have four points for the Falcons.

East Lyme and Griswold play in the next quarterfinal scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at St. Bernard High School.
