How to Get the Best Price On a Samsung Galaxy Note 9

At $999 for the base model, Samsung's new phablet ain't cheap, and deals vary depending on the carrier you choose. Here's what you need to know to get the lowest price.

The Galaxy Note 9 has arrived. Samsung's latest pen-enabled phablet packs a fast processor and a ton of battery and storage capacity to power all those hours of playing Fortnite.

The Galaxy Note 9 is available for pre-order starting tomorrow, and in stores starting on August 24 from all major U.S. carriers and unlocked from Samsung. The base price of $999 for the 128GB model matches that of the iPhone X, albeit with double the storage. The 512GB Galaxy Note 9 model costs $1,249.99.

While the price is most definitely expensive, the four major US carriers have all announced deals and promotions to make it more affordable. Check out our breakdown of all the Galaxy Note 9 price options from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

AT&T

AT&T's will price the Galaxy Note 9 at $33.34 for 30 months on an AT&T Next installment plan. For a limited time, AT&T customers can get a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, S9 or S9+ free when they buy.

You can pre-order from AT&T in stores or via phone beginning Friday, Aug. 10, or online starting at 12am ET/9am PT.

Sprint

Sprint is offering the Galaxy Note 9 at 50 percent off with a Sprint Flex Lease with payments of $20.83 per month. The carrier's Galaxy Forever plan also allows upgrades any time to the latest Galaxy after a year of payments. Through Aug. 23, Sprint is also offering a free pair of AKG noise-canceling headphones or the Fortnite Galaxy skin with 15,000 in-game V-bucks for free. You can choose both add-ons for $99.

Pre-orders start Friday online and in stores.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile will sell the 128GB Galaxy Note 9 model at the full retail price of $999.99 with $279.99 down and payments of $30 a month. The 512GB model will also be $30 per month, but requires $529.99 down on the $1,249.99 total price.

However, for a limited time the carrier is offering 50 percent off with a qualifying Samsung trade-in over 24 monthly bill credits. Pre-orders start online at 9:01pm PT/12:01am ET.

Verizon Wireless

Verizon is offering the Galaxy Note 9's 128GB model at $41.66 a month for 24 months, or the full retail price of $999.99. The 512GB model will run you $52.08 a month for 24 months or the full $1,249.99. For a limited time, if you buy a 128GB Galaxy Note 9, Verizon will also give you a free 128GB Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9, or Galaxy S9+ if you purchase on a Verizon device payment plan with one new line of service.

The carrier is also giving out a bonus reward of $10 off Samsung accessories for Verizon Up members with an active Samsung smartphone on their account.

Finally, Verizon is running the same noise-canceling headphones and Fortnite V-bucks promotion as Sprint, offering a choice of AKG headphones or Fortnite Galaxy skin with 15,000 V-bucks for free, or both for $99. Pre-orders start Aug. 10 in stores and online.
