TAYLOR COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Taylor County arrested a man in Raywick who is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Campbellsville and filming the attack on a cellphone.

Charles Edward Spurlock III

Authorities said 20-year-old Charles Edward Spurlock III arrested March 11 at a residence along McIell Road, where Taylor County Sheriff’s Department deputies executed a search warrant.

Police seized “several electronic devices” from the home and took Spurlock into custody, authorities said.

Spurlock is accused of breaking into a home in Campbellsville earlier in the year and raping a 14-year-old girl. Police say he filmed his attack using a cellphone.

Spurlock was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree burglary and use of a minor under the age of 16 in a sexual performance.

He was being held in the Taylor County Detention Center.
