University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. Inducts New Vice Chair

At the recent June meeting of the Board of Trustees, the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation Inc., (UMBF) elected new officers to fill the roles of chair, vice chair, and secretary.

Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow, PharmD, was elected as the new vice chair of the UMBF Board of Trustees. Dr. Yankellow received her BSP from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP) in 1973 and her PharmD in 1996. She is the President and CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc., the nation’s leading woman-owned institutional pharmacy provider. She serves on the UMSOP Board of Visitors, holding the position of chair from 2008 until 2016. Dr. Yankellow has served on the UMBF Board of Trustees since 2014. Throughout her years of service to the UMSOP and UMBF, Dr. Yankellow’s philanthropy has made a significant impact on many pharmacy students and young pharmacists through scholarships and fellowships. Most recently, Dr. Yankellow, committed a generous gift to establish the UMSOP’s Center for Women in Pharmapreneurism and has made significant commitments to the UMB Community Engagement Center. Dr. Yankellow and her husband, William Chapman, reside in Lutherville, MD.

UMBF serves as the fiscal agent for the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Maryland’s only public health, law, and human services university. UMB is comprised of six professional schools (dentistry, law, nursing, medicine, pharmacy, social work) and an interdisciplinary graduate school. Its mission is to improve the human condition and serve the public good of Maryland and society at-large through education, research, clinical care, and service.
