Here's your complete guide to July 4 fireworks shows and other festive events in and near Miami Beach.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — It's time to give some thought to things that go bump in the summer night, also known as our local July 4 celebrations. As in other years, there will be plenty of fireworks displays around the Miami Beach area to choose from. Patch has compiled a list of holiday celebrations and parking information to help make this your best Independence Day ever.

The National Weather Service released the following updated forecast Wednesday afternoon to help you plan your holiday evening:

Early PM Update: scattered thunderstorms over the western suburbs as of 225 PM, individual storms showing little movement. Scattered thunderstorms over the southern Everglades. Showers and thunderstorms beginning to develop over the rest of the interior peninsula. Mainly dry elsewhere.

The East Coast Metro Areas: scattered thunderstorms continuing primarily over areas along and west of Turnpike through at least 5 PM. Areas closer to the coast have a better chance of staying dry. Chance of showers and thunderstorms increases along and near the coast from 6 PM through the evening hours as inland storms develop and move towards the coast. One or two strong storms possible, containing occasional to frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds in excess of 30 mph, and torrential rain.

The interior/Everglades/Lake Okeechobee Communities: showers and thunderstorms increasing in coverage through 7 PM. A few strong storms containing occasional to frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds in excess of 30 mph and torrential rain. Rain gradually winding down after sunset but a couple of showers/thunderstorms could linger through the evening.

Miami Beach Fire on the Fourth Festival
The red, white and blue will be flying high along the beach with a nod to the great American music and spirit of New Orleans. Enjoy day-long entertainment and activities for the entire family at Miami Beach’s North Beach Bandshell Park on Collins Avenue and 73 Street.

Presented by Coca-Cola and Hotwire Communications, the outdoor festival kicks-off at 9 a.m. with free yoga on the beach by NOBE Yoga and food trucks beginning at 1 p.m. From noon to 4 p.m., children will be able to enjoy a special Kids Zone on the sand, featuring a rock-climbing wall, bungee station, inflatable slide, face-painting station, free soccer clinic, corn hole contest, potato sack racing, crafts and opportunities to win a prize. If that’s not competitive enough for you, a pie-eating contest will take place at noon.

As a City of Kindness, Operation Thank You will also be in full swing throughout the day collecting and sending cards to thank the troops. T-Mobile will show its gratitude to U.S. troops by treating active military personnel and veterans to an exclusive experience in a V.I.P. area.

Live tunes throughout the day will be spun by DJ Corey Chase. Beginning at 4 p.m., take in the sounds of three-time Miami New Times’ Best Band — Suenalo, then dance through the crowd with Miami’s own Junkanoo Parade hosted by Island Grove Entertainment. At 6:15 p.m., the “Soul Queen” and American classic Irma Thomas and The Professionals will take the stage for a celebration of soul stirring music. Grammy award-winning New Orleans staple Rebirth Brass Band will close the show at 7:30 p.m. The event concludes by lighting up the night skyline with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Transportation And Parking Info

A free, dedicated shuttle service will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. between the 42 Street garage (stop located along southbound Sheridan Avenue north of 41 Street) and the North Beach Bandshell (stop located at Collins Avenue and 73 Street), departing every 30 minutes. In addition, attendees can use the free citywide trolley service operating from 6 a.m. to midnight. Service frequency for the trolleys is 15 to 20 minutes. Special Rules

Styrofoam, glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The city encourages all attendees to do their part in recycling and #KeepMBClean.

The City of Aventura will hold its annual Independence Day fireworks celebration on Wednesday, July 4 at 9 p.m. along Country Club Drives. The spectacular aerial display will illuminate the skies above the City of Excellence and can be viewed from any location along Country Club Drives. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Ave. Colorful fireworks will fill the night skies over Coral Gables this July 4th. Enjoy a special concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band, concessions and a spectacular fireworks display. Grounds open at 5 p.m. A concert begins at 7 p.m. and the fireworks show caps off the evening at 9 p.m.

PINECREST

Game Day
Every Wednesday is game day in Pinecrest but join us on July 4 for a special holiday edition. Most of our attendees enjoy playing Mah Jong and Dominoes. We always welcome new players to the group. However, if you and some friends want to come to play card games, scrabble, or anything else please join us. We always have refreshments, coffee and delightful camaraderie. No need to call and reserve. Just come on in. Game Day takes place from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Pinecrest Community Center, 5855 Killian Drive.

PALMETTO BAY

Independence Day Celebration
The fun takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Palmetto Bay Village Hall, 9705 East Hibiscus Street. The event features live music, lasers, food vendors and a Kids Fun Zone. Don't miss the fireworks extravaganza at 9 p.m.
Bring your blankets and beach chairs but leave your barbecues at home.


CUTLER BAY

Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks
Enjoy an all-American day followed by a spectacular fireworks display at Black Point Park and Marina, 24775 SW 87th Avenue. Admission is free (excludes marina). Cutler Bay residents can bring their golf carts along SW 87 Avenue from 232 Street to Black Point Park and Marina. Golf carts must be parked in designated areas and registered with the town. Enjoy the great outdoors while exploring the park's bikeways, scenic jogging trails, or the 1.5 mile long jetty into the Bay where fishing enthusiasts are encouraged to cast from shore. Holiday festivities take place on Fort Lauderdale Beach between Las Olas Boulevard and SE 5 Street. City officials said they were not planning any road closures around the event.
"Only on July 4 during the Fourth of July Spectacular and only within the event area, alcohol will be allowed," Fort Lauderdale police said on Tuesday, adding that glass bottles will be prohibited as well as personal fireworks.
Family activities, beach games and various contests begin at noon. The fireworks show takes place at 9 p.m.
