ROANOKE, VA (WWBT) - The lockdown of a Virginia college has been lifted. The lockdown of Ferrum College came after reports of two attempted armed robberies on campus.

Ferrum College is located in Ferrum, Virginia, which is about 35 miles outside of Roanoke.

The campus went on lockdown Thursday night, a little after 11 p.m.

Police received a call around 9:15 p.m. Thursday night after a student was supposedly robbed near Riddick Hall, which is a dorm on campus.

The robber didn't get away with anything.

Shortly after police responded to that call, they received another call of yet another robbery- this one on the campus soccer field.

In this case, the robber took a student's wallet.

Neither student was hurt but both say they were threatened with a gun.

No word on whether authorities have a suspect. Ferrum College police and Franklin County deputies continue to investigate.
