Harrison David Dunn
Harrison David Dunn, 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Erlanger Hospital due to complications from multiple myeloma cancer. David was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 9, 1944, to the late Harrison and Arlene Dunn.
David was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He attended McCallie School, graduated from East Ridge High School and later studied at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee. In his early years David followed in his father’s footsteps with Brock & Blevins, Inc. which led to his founding of M&D Power Constructors, Inc. David received numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding performance in the industrial construction industry. He was a well-respected businessman, not only by his employees but most importantly amongst his peers. Besides spending time with his family, he was a devoted Tennessee Vols fan, an enthusiastic pilot with an instrument rating, and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. His faith, patriotism and generosity were evident throughout his life.
David is survived by the love of his, life Carolyn Dunn, and their two daughters, Kristi Long (Brice), Michele Roach (Aaron), grandson, Austin Roach, step-father, Herbert Hester, sister, Pamela Kidd (David) nephew Brock Kidd (Corinne), niece Keri Cannon, nephew Ben Cannon and step-son Frank Satterwhite, two step-granddaughters, Brittany and Sage. He was preceded in death by his wife Daniela.
The service will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. Please join the family for dinner and a celebration of David’s life at the same location following the service.
