Fine Gardening and Landscaping Job

Fine Gardening & Landscaping

Gardens by the Yard, a Wayland-based fine landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm looking for capable folks to contribute to various landscape tasks. Most of the work is new landscape installation, with some maintenance. We do not mow lawns.

We are a growing company and owe that to the motivated, honest, hard-working people who work on our teams. It's an upbeat group with positive energy who enjoys bringing organic beauty to our customers. Our work strives to be synergistic with native habitats and ecologically responsible. Most work is performed in Newton, Natick, W. Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Sudbury, Needham and Wayland. All of our projects are performed at high quality, and customer delight is extremely important.

We have part and full time positions available. All candidates must be physically fit, enthusiastic to learn, work well as a team member, and enjoy working outside with plant material under various weather conditions. Essentially, you should enjoy an invigorating day at the office outside.

Here are some of the other skillsets we seek (not necessarily all in one person):
- Horticultural knowledge
- Drip Line Irrigation
- Tree pruning and removal (under 20 feet)
- Comfortable wielding a pick axe and moving wheelbarrows of crushed stone, as well as able to handle delicate plant material.
- There are positions available for those who have thorough knowledge of plant material and can focus on installation and maintenance (does not require heavy lifting.
- Supervisory experience with mid-size installations (coordination of materials, personnel, delivery per design, and quality management)

Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and cell phone with texting, as well as access to email. Wages are very competitive. $14-$18/hour based upon experience.

PLEASE PROVIDE A RESUME WITH REFERENCES.

BTW...candidates who are not allergic to poison ivy are especially interesting to us!
