4 South Carolina Officers Shot In York: Authorities

BREAKING: Four law enforcement officers were shot in York while responding to a domestic violence call, authorities said.

YORK, SC — Authorities say four law enforcement officers including three York County deputies were shot while responding to a domestic call in York. The suspected shooter was shot and apprehended early Tuesday, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the scene just after 10 p.m. Monday for a call that a man was attacking a woman on the 3000 block of Farrier Lane, said Trent Faris of the York County Sheriff's office. The suspect had left the scene and a K-9 unit was called to help find him. Shortly after beginning tracking early Tuesday, Faris said authorities believe the suspect began shooting, striking the handler of a K-9 officer. That officer was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

At about 3:30 a.m., gunshots erupted again and three York County Sheriff's deputies were shot, Faris said. Their names and extent of their injuries are being withheld. The shooting was near the home.
