Rural Oklahoma EMS providers split $1.7 million in grants

Oklahoma City — The Oklahoma State Department of Health awarded more than $1.7 million to 20 emergency medical service providers around the state. The money comes from the Oklahoma Emergency Response Systems Stabilization and Improvement Revolving Fund, which is funded by tobacco taxes. EMS providers can use the money for assessments, reorganizing at-risk departments, training and equipment.

Recipients are:

• Sinor EMS, Clinton, Sayre, Hobart and Thomas; $46,015.

• Tillman County EMS, $72,010.

• Carnegie EMS, $248,040.

• Antlers Fire Department EMS, $99,789.

• Elk City Fire Department EMS, $29,162.

• EMS Success Inc., Choctaw, $98,400.

• Roger Mills County EMS, $77,062.

• Southwest Oklahoma Ambulance Authority, Hollis, $91,710.

• Major County EMS, $96,186.

• Waynoka EMS, $67,681.

• Cimarron County EMS, $99,322.

• Anadarko Fire Department, $162,522.

• Kingfisher Fire Department EMS, $99,999.

• Gordon Cooper Technology Center, Shawnee, $99,900.

• Perry Fire Department EMS, $38,263.

• Heartland Medical Direction Inc., Crescent, $79,711.

• Okmulgee County EMS, $75,590.

• Beaver County EMS, $22,752.

• Life EMS Inc., Enid, $93,405.

• Mercy Health Love County EMS, $39,995.
