NCAA fans are seeing a project quickly progressing as construction crews install the exterior of the arena and are starting to install the interior seating bowl as well. In fact, Bucks and Marquette University officials have already made a bid to host future NCAA tournaments in Milwaukee in the new arena.

Bucks executives told the Milwaukee Business Journal that construction remains on schedule on the $500 million project as a result of the mild winter of 2016-2017.

The aerial photos were provided by photographer Curtis Waltz, owner and photographer with Aerialscapes Inc. in Hartland. He flew over the arena construction project on Sunday, March 12 before a late winter snowstorm hit the Milwaukee area to give our readers a view of the bustling construction site.

Also moving along quickly are the new parking structure north of the new arena and the new practice facility to the northwest. The practice facility will connect with a new Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin clinic that's also underway.

Mortenson Construction is the construction manager for the arena project, while J.H. Findorff & Son of Milwaukee is overseeing construction of a parking structure and J.P. Cullen & Sons of Brookfield is leading the building of the practice facility.

The arena project is expected to be completed in time for the 2018-'19 season.
